It's time again to start thinking about participating in the California Author's Booth at the State Fair. This booth features California authors from all over the state, so it's not something restricted to NCPA members. One of the original organizers and still "gatekeeper" is Naida West, assisted by Michelle Hamilton. Interested authors can send a request to participate directly by mail to Naida, at: Bridgehouse Books, P.O. Box 809, Rancho Murieta, CA 95683, or by email to her at: BridgeHouseBooks@gmail.com.
If you've participated before, you do NOT have to send in a copy of all your books. If not, or if you have new titles, you need to send her a copy of each book you want to take to the Fair. Your book will NOT be returned unless you include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for her. Be sure to include the following information:
Your book titles, your California Driver's License number, your California Resale License (you can get one from the Board of Equalization, if you don't already have it), your date of birth, your address, and the best phone number to reach you.
Remember, sending in your entry information does NOT insure your being accepted! Naida makes her decision based on the number of applicants, the number and type of books you've written, and several other criteria based on her nearly 20 years of State Fair book sales. If you are accepted, she will contact you with more questions and information.
If you have questions, please contact me first rather than bugging Naida on the phone. This project is a huge amount of work, and if I can help you initially, it's a big help for her.
